New Amsterdam

I recently went to that lovely city of New York for my 128th birthday. it was one of the better trips out there. i'm convinced that if i was a rich girl new york would be my MEcca. man, people were really friendly ~ have they always been this friendly? i made my first stop off Williamsburg, Brooklyn ,never been there before- seemed like the place to be. after all, we were headed to a dance competition that played late 50's / early 60's early rock and soul.... but out first stop, a bar called Zebulon ---------> zebuloncafeconcert.com <------ this bar/ cafe is jazzy. i mean wall to wall mirrors, pleasant lighting and good martinis. the place is packed. performing is as an afrobeat group, 'Asiko' was their name, very reminiscent of 'Antibalas' another afrobeat group heavily influenced by the great Fela Kuti ( if you have no idea who i'm talking about, this is your homework). unfortunately i have no pictures for the two days i was in Williamsburg~ bummer
the next 3 or four posts will be of this lovely New York city until i return to the one and only.......
